About HTMLHelp
iBright uses the Microsoft® HTMLHelp standard for
providing Help documentation, both locally (to the
user) and On-line via the Internet.
As an information delivery system, HTMLHelp is suited
for a wide range of applications, including training
guides, interactive books, and electronic newsletters,
as well as help for software applications.
HTMLHelp offers some distinct advantages over standard
HTML, such as the ability to implement a combined table
of contents and index and the use of keywords for advanced
hyperlinking capability.
The HTMLHelp compiler (part of the HTMLHelp Workshop)
makes it possible to compress HTML, graphic, and other
files into a relatively small compiled help (.chm)
file, which can then be distributed with a software
application, or downloaded from the Web.
In order to view local HTMLHelp files (.chm) the HTMLHelp
system files must be installed. If you are running
a new Microsoft® Operating System (such as Windows
2000) or a new Internet Browser (such as Internet Explorer
5.0), the HTMLHelp will already be installed. However,
older Operating Systems may require a download.
Download HTMLHelp
If you don't have HTMLHelp installed (you can check
by searching for the file 'HHCtrl.ocx' on your computer)
then the necessary files may be downloaded:
Both files use self-extracting installation programs.
Simply download and double-click to start installing.
Please follow the on-screen instructions for installation
information.
No files need to be downloaded in order to view the
Help On-line.

Every
care has been taken to ensure that all download files
are free from virus infection, however, it is always
a good idea to scan any file downloaded from the Internet
prior to use.
