Ownership
This White Paper identifies
what software products are necessary to produce baseSim
Models in various guises. It also indicates how much
these products cost and whether the these costs are
'one off' or 'on-going'.
The 'Call Handling Centre' (CHC)
demonstration (availaible as part of the Professional
Add-on Module download) has been used to illustrate
these requirements using the Standard, Professional and Application User
Interfaces.
It should be noted that the CHC demonstration Model
has been compiled for three different User
Interfaces without modification - therefore
illustrating how easy it is to quickly change the 'look
and feel' of your Model. Additionally, it will soon
be possible to compile a baseSim Model for
Win32 or .NET without modification - further
enahancing the Model's potential audience.
All costs are displayed in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and
may be subject to VAT, charged at the prevailing rate.
The prices quoted are for a single 'Seat' license and
are correct as at January 2006.
Standard User Interface
The Standard User Interface (see Figure 1)
is provided with the baseSim Standard Module and provides
basic interactivity with the Model enabling the User
to start, stop and view the Model whilst it is running
etc.

Ongoing Costs
There are no on-going costs; all Models and Applications
may be distributed free of charge.
Clearly, once Borland Delphi has been purchased
it may be used for any programming purpose (within
the licensing agreement), not just for baseSim Models.
Professional User Interface
The Professional User Interface (see Figure 2)
is provided with the baseSim Professional Add-on Module
and provides enhanced functionality and introduces
new components to extend connectivity, enhance model
experimentation and improve speed optimisation etc.
The Professional Add-on Module requires that the baseSim
Standard Module has already been purchased and installed
on the target machine.

The CHC demo illustrated in Figure 1 has
been easily extended (programatically in Delphi) to
include an array of shortcut buttons (the four icons
down the left hand side of the Model) linked to the
new Professional areas of functionality.

There are no on-going costs; all Models and Applications
may be distributed free of charge.

is provided with the baseSim Application Add-on Module

The Application Add-on Module requires that the baseSim
Standard and Professional Add-on Modules have already
been purchased and installed on the target machine.

- Tabbed browsing - open Model Frames in same tab
(the navigation history is maintained - allowing
'forward' and 'backward' navigation)
- Integration of Model Manager tab - allows the Model
to be configured
- Integration of Experiment Manager tab - allows
the Model to be used as part of an Experimentation
Scenario(s)
- Integration of Optimisation Manager tab - allows
the Model to be used as part of an Optimisation Scenario(s)
- Integration of Results Manager tab - allows results
to be analysed within the Model
- Integrated User Management tab - enabling areas
of the Model to be hidden or password controlled
